Steve & Ellie get married with a Wurlitzer

I travelled up to Leeds for Steve and Ellie's day. The wedding took place in Victoria Hall in Saltaire near Bradford, which is actually a world Heritage Site, and you can't help but fall in love with the history and the magic of the place (even in the rain!!)

Ellie and Steve are collectors are everything, just check out their house.... This completely was the theme of the day from the old penguin book favours (even I got one!!) to the amazing cake toppers that Ellie had found at various markets. Family and friends had also got in on the action with Ellie's sister making all the bunting and one of their friends making all the teacup candles... It was all so lovingly thought about.

I absolutely loved Ellie's dress which she bought on Etsy and is a 1950's prom dress which went so well with the of the venue.

The highlight of the evening, which I was so excited about seeing, was the Wurlitzer (Cinema Organ) that Victoria Hall has. As a surprise for all the guests as they went downstairs it suddenly strated playing as it rose from the stage! (without any smoke unfortunately but lot's of lights) Lots of gasps and laughs as you can imagine.

Thank you so much Ellie and Steve for such a beautiful day.. for seating me at one of the main tables and for showing me that vegan food is actually really tasty (don't worry dad I will still be eating your amazing BBQ beef this summer). Thanks guys!!

John & Lucy, Engagement Shoot - Peckham Rye

I can't wait to photograph John and Lucy's wedding in just under 2 weeks time. It is going to be my first traditional Chinese wedding and to say I am excited about the tea ceremonies, 2 dresses, and the food is an understatement... John and Lucy are the sweetest couple and we had such a lovely day with gorgeous weather around Peckham Rye.

Yes, Another Christmas Post...

Well I thought I should jump on the band wagon before I shoot off for the week and wish everyone a massive Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. This year has been epic for me with some amazingly beautiful weddings not to mention THE most fabulous couples. It has also been the year that I myself got married.. yes I am now finally in the club.
Next year is looking so exciting photographing many more fabulous weddings meeting many more fabulous people but the most exciting bit is... that I can do all this during the week from the comfy chair in my own office... Yes I will be (practically) a FULL time photographer!!!

Many of you probably don't know that I have worked for another photographer for a few years now (he is the uber talented advertising photographer James Day) but I have finally decided to take the leap and next year I will be working on my photography for most of the week while only working for James now and again. This means that you will be hearing a lot more from me on my blog and looking at a brand spanking new website, at some point.. yes it's time to take this peacock loving, baking obsessed, christmas excited, new wife of a gal to the next level in the world of photography (I've got all my gold coins and found the secret key and I'm going in)

* Please blame all the craziness in my head on Christmas and eating too many cookies far too early this morning.

Adam & Bernie get married - Lains Barn

This was such a special wedding for me to capture for a few reasons. It was the first one after my own wedding which really did give me a different perspective of the whole day, Bernie's sister is Debs who was the photographer at my wedding so no pressure!! Also not to mentionn just how lovely Bernie, Adam and their son Josh (who is the coolest little guy let alone so cute) were to me...
So the wedding took place at Lains Barn in Oxfordshire on a glorioulsy sunny day. Bernie and Adam were up for anything so dragging them into the field at the back of the barn was no problem ;) Thank you guys!!! - we will gloss over the incident which happened to me there... what goes on in the field stays in the field, saying that this was also the wedding where I tripped over a little child (catastrophically) yes children, me and fileds may not mix very well... Anyway at least I got some laughs from.

Chris and Fola get married at the Barbican

Chris and Fola got married at the absolutely breathtaking Barbican. As a lover of concrete and anything in the Brutalist style I was really excited to see a wedding here, and it really did not disappoint. Chris and Fola met whilst working at Empire magazine, where Chris still works as well as sometimes presenting on Film 2011, so what better theme than an 'Empire Wedding'.

I met Fola at The Hoxton hotel where her bother, Toyin, hairdresser extraordinaire, was doing her hair. She had chosen the most stunning Maggie Sottero dress which I absolutely adored. I then went on to the venue to meet up with Chris and his ushers making all the last minute preparations. It was during this point that Chris realised he had forgotten the button holes which proved for shock, horror and laughs......the centrepieces were adopted and Fola didn't even know until Chris told her later on in the day...

Chris and Fola had designed and made mini Empire magazines which were out of this world. They had done interviews with each other, their friends and reviews... it was truly a work of art. Throughout the day it was the ultimate Empire wedding with an Empire microphone and cameraman going round interviewing guests and the happy couple themselves.

The first dance was a truly special moment as it was sung by Fola's bridesmaid Gemma who had such a beautiful voice. Lauren Laverne then stepped up and made sure the party continued throughout the night. Thank you so much Chris and Fola for being so amazing and nearly bringing me to tears a few times you are both obviously made for each other and I love the fact that you took the long way round to finally work that out. Big Love guys.

Personal Post: Married...

I have urrrrmmed and arrred for ages about writing this post as I wasn't sure I could find all the right words but have decided to put a few of my thoughts down about my own wedding. Now I didn't want to put millions of pictures up as you can see them all here.... on my fab photographer's (Debs Ivelja) site but I wanted to acknowledge on my blog that this monumentous event, that I know many of you are going through, has just happened to me....

So on August 5th 2011 I married my Simon. It was a truly special day .. yes I had the lace dress, the sun, the gorgeous cake, a special venue, my childhood church, the sweet bar, millions of umbrellas, the bridesmaids all in the mismatched shoes, the old suitcases, a lace veil from spain... you get the idea - my perfect wedding on paper BUT what I had more than anything which is what I now look back on and cherish is that I had all the people who I love most in the world in the same room sharing it all with me and the one person I had chosen to spend the rest of my life with.

We first met at University 9 years ago when I was just 19, a fresher and really not looking for The One but we hit it off and after lot's of traveling (he initially was working and living in Essex I was in Portsmouth) we finally got to the proposal in 2009. We taking 8 months out to go traveling around the US, Asia and India and everyone said we would either come back engaged or split up... the pressure was on...

Our 'official' engagement photo - Simon chose the ring himself which I love but we got the proper one when we were in San Francisco later that week....

Simon finally proposed in Moss Landing, California, on a beach at sunset... it really was amazing ..... So from there 2 years down the line we get to the wedding day... I don't want to say to much about the details and it is covered mostly here but I couldn't have wished for any more laughs, tears and smiles on any one day of my life.

So many people keep asking if it feels any different being married and it really doesn't it just all feels so right.

Paul and Janine: Wedding

I travelled all the way up to Liverpool for Paul and Janine's wedding in the Isla Gladstone Conservatory, which was well worth the long drive to spend such a beautiful day with a gorgeous family and all their hilarious friends.

After the ceremony at the church we travelled to the Isla Gladstone Conservatory, Anfield an amazing venue, which only opened 2 years ago. The conservatory has the most spectacular light and the first dance had the sunset as the backdrop - STUNNING!!

Janine had her dress made through a lady she met on Etsy. It was all made up from old pieces of lace and looked so beautiful (not much wouldn't though to be honest)

Paul and Janine have 3 children, the 2 girls were bridesmaids and Paul Jnr made such a cute page boy in his little top hat - I loved him.. hence all the pictures....

I love traveling for weddings, meeting new people and seeing different places.... the north is always so hospitable to me and this day was really no exception.

I have always thought of Lighthouses as really magical places.... Someone living all the way up there governing a big light, guiding people through the dark. A secluded existence, at the end of the earth quite literally....Where better to get married and declare your love than this mysterious, unique graphic structure..... I have never been inside a lighthouse before so when Rebecca and Lucy mentioned they were getting married INSIDE one I couldn't wait to photograph it.

I photographed Lucy's brothers wedding last year and it was through him that Lucy got in touch with me. Now it is worth pointing out that Lucy is deaf and blind so this was not going to be any ordinary wedding but then again a wedding in a lighthouse was never going to be ordinary was it?

I had no idea what to expect but after a few emails back and forth to Lucy I felt that it was going to be an experience if not anything else - what an understatement that was! There were 4 'guests' at the wedding as you can't fit many people in a lighthouse, including Ashbey, Lucy's guide dog who was the bravest (he is scared of heights) most attentive and dapper dog I have ever met - check out his Bow tie... ...So we all tentatively walked right to the top, may I also point out at this point that Rebecca is also scared of heights - this being Lucy's dream wedding though Rebecca got over this fear - the things you do for love.

Rebecca and Lucy communicate through tactile signing which the ceremony was also conducted in..... it was beautiful to watch hands being used in such a loving and emotional way communicating words and feelings through touch.

After the service Lucy, Rebecca and I went down to the beach which was absolutely stunning . The wind, the clouds the sunlight it was all pretty overwhelming.

I can't put into words how special this day was... The love between Lucy and Rebecca, the breathtaking location, the beautiful and doting Ashbey - I just hope the photos communicate even part of the story...

Wild Horses, Wild foxglove wood and Wild dancing....

When I heard about wild horses in the New Forest I thought that they were going to be 'wild' but I arrived in Beaulieu on the morning of Neil and Donna's wedding over 1 hour early so drove around a bit and yes driving past whole herds (is that the term for a group??) of horses with foals close by too!! It was truly magical for me and set me up so well for the beautiful wedding that was to come.

Donna's laugh is pretty infectious , Neil is completely doting and together the love is obvious for everyone to see. Donna and Neil live in Portsmouth and chose to get married in .....Beauleiu. The ancient church, lake and horses all made for a truly wonderful backdrop and the wild foxglove wood topped it all... I'm not sure how thrilled Donna was as I dragged her through the wood in her brand new Jimmy Choo's but I think it was so worth it.

Donna's family in from Orkney Islands so no traditional Scottish wedding would be right without a few kilts, crazy Ceilidh dancing and drinking god knows what, from a Orkney Pot..... It really was a truly fun day and Neil and Donna are so laid back, in love, always laughing (when Neil isn't crying tears of joy of course - which was quite a bit ;) ) and up for anything which I always think makes for good pictures right?

Starry Eyed with Jasmine Star....

Wow what a week this has been... in between photographing weddings and the last 2 weeks of my own wedding planning I was absolutely privileged to attend the first UK workshop led by the amazing American wedding photographer Jasmine Star. For those of you that don't know Jasmine she is not only a fabulous wedding photographer but has used blogging and social media to completely revolutionise the way we all think about networking and advertising.... what this lady does not know about marketing and creating your own brand is not worth knowing...

The workshop was a 1 day affair and 20 of us attended. I knew that I was going to love getting to know Jasmine and JD but what I hadn't anticipated was how amazing it would be to know all the other photographers too!! I won't list them all but if you check out Rock and Roll Brides blog then you will see who I shared this experience with....

It all took place at one Marylebone which is a fabulous wedding venue with them most gorgeous light. While the morning was spent with Jasmine sharing all her knowledge and experience of branding and marketing through her business and how we can improve ours. The afternoon was spent with 2 beautiful models/real life couple photographing them in the fabulous venue both inside and out...... Kat from Rock and Roll Bride was the instigator and organisation behind the whole day and she had managed to bring together the most lovely suppliers to create this classic, beautiful set up which Jasmine used to teach us all about posing and lighting with the real life couple.

I know that so many posts are being written bout this special day so please take a look at them and save me from repeating myself. Jasmine is a real inspiration and until you meet her you don't really appreciate this. It was such a pleasure to meet her and her backbone JD and all the other photographers that day and create memories, experiences and learn and feel so energised about my own business and where to take it next......THANK YOU!!!!

Our Wedding Invitations...Countdown has begun!

Well the big day is now getting closer (August 5th incase you were wondering) and we sent out all the invites last week...eeeek there is now officially no going back!

These have been months in the making but every minute has been so worth it just to hear people's reactions when they received them. (all good for the record)

So i'll take you back right to the beginning. Ever since we got engaged I knew that I would love to incorporate my friends talents somehow, somewhere, within the wedding. No more so than my friend Jenni Desmond.

Jenni has not long finished her MA in children's illustration and I can't tell you how much I love her work check out more if it here. She is now not only a very successful illustrator she has just signed her first book deal for 2 books due out next year!!! Who knows how much these invites will be worth one day?

So I knew I had to get her to illustrate my wedding invites. I had a theme of umbrellas (which is the general theme for wedding - Don't really have time to explain now) and we started working with ideas. I initially told Jenni it would be one illustration but being me and as my ideas grew this ended up being 12! THANK YOU JENNI!! .... The man and me always loved the idea of having a handbag sized information booklet that people can bring with them on the day and then have no excuses for getting lost !

They are pretty self explanatory so i'll stop waffling on........ After 2 days of punching holes and tying ribbon and many many hours of printing (they were all printed on our home printer except the main folded invite) HERE THEY ARE.....

The Photo Book

I already offer The Fine Art Album which has been going down very well but I would like to introduce you to another album I have decided to add to the list. This is 'The Photo Book'.

The Photo Book is the affordable option and although doesn't have the fancy leather cover or fancy leather box that the Fine Art Album does, It will still look fantastic on your coffee table with superb printing and lay flat pages. It is great as an additional album that you can show to friends or as smaller album you can give as a gift for parents and loved ones.

It comes in 2 sizes - 10x10'' and 8x8'' holding 40-60 images.

It is hard to write about something which you can only really 'see' by holding, touching and feeling ... yes I am a little in love with albums which is why I urge all my couples to get one.... What better way to treasure your memories than to hold them in your hands curling up on the sofa and reminiscing with loved ones....

Family shoot in Henley-On-Thames

Last week I had the pleasure to photograph the Walmsley family in Henley. I am photographing Hannah's wedding at the end of July and she wanted some 'last' photos of her and her family before she is officially not a Walmsley anymore.... of course she will always be one at heart!!

We had so much fun in Henley around the river and back at the family home... can't wait for wedding especially if the weather is as good to us as it was that day!! (Hannah is the sister with blonde hair in the black and white dress incase you were wondering)

Ian and Sophie - Shoreditch House Wedding Photography

Well this is one hell of a cool couple and where else do cool couples get married - in Shoreditch House of course....
I photographed this wedding a while ago but it was one that I couldn't not ever blog about .... Ian and Sophie are both producers at the BBC and a very creative couple. They wanted their day to be really personal and all about the party !! They married in the bowling alley at Shoreditch House (the first couple to do so) and then after some bowl food (no pun intended just really yummy risotto) the Shellac sisters kicked off the evening entertainment with a 'Stroll' before a dj took it well into the night.
Ian and Sophie were up for all ideas and as they had decided to get ready together in the morning we were able to go outside around Shoreditch House before the ceremony and got use of the graffiti to our full advantage and Yes the super 8 camera that Ian was using is real - he shoots the most amazing wedding videos for friends and family......

Rock My Wedding - Feature Joe and Becky

Becky and Joe - 1960's inspired Intimate London Wedding

I love a London wedding and this was no exception. At the end of last year I photographed the the wedding of Joe and Becky. They really were such a beautiful couple in every way and so in love it was gorgeous to capture. It was a little different to the 'normal' weddings I capture as this was one of two 'weddings' for them. They had the official ceremony with just their parents at Marylebone Town Hall in London before jetting off to Ibiza 3 days later for a huge big party with 70 of their friends and family.

We started by meeting up at The Goring Hotel where we have had a few meetings before. I am since in love with this hotel just next to Victoria station, the sericve is impeccable yet it is really relaxed. Kate Middleton is even reported to be having her hen party here!! Ooooo!!!

All 7 of us then went on to Marylebone town Hall in convoy and had a beautiful ceremony in this truly magnificent London venue... We then wanted to find a few London spots to have some portraits so we went to St James Square first before ending up in Trafalgar Square which was amazing to photograph with the whole of London watching.... it was then back to the hotel for cake, champagne and croquet before I left the family to enjoy their evening dinner.

Becky is one truly beautiful bride and with Joe they had such a cool 1960's vibe going on. Becky's 1st dress (she had a different one for Ibiza) was from Theory which she jazzed up with a belt from ebay... her lovely hair comb was courtesy of Katherine Swaine. Her shoes were Jimmy Choo which she then wore again in Ibiza. Joe looked so dapper in his Marc Wallace suit which fitted so well I am trying to persuade the other half to get his from here for our wedding. Joe also had an exact copy made of for Ibiza but in cream. The stunning flowers were from Wild at Heart and Becky kept the same dusky pink colours in Ibiza which was a really nice touch...

A few cool facts about this cool couple and our choice in the locations we shot at....

- Joe's great great (great -not sure how many) grandfather invented Croquet and Happy Families (love that game!!) and Joe now works at the family games firm Jacques London ..... They supply the croquet for the Goring Hotel (not to mention the royal family as well!!) hence the connection and the croquet game at the end of the day....

- Joe's dad proposed to Joe's mum in Trafalgar Square next to one of the lions so we tried to replicate this family scene...

Anyway way to much writing and not enough picture viewing and if you have kept reading up until this point then you deserve a medal!

James and Rebecca - Union Club Wedding

Well my first post for 2011 and what a busy year this is going to be whoo hoo!!! I am very excited to be photogrhaphing some amazing couples this year as well as having my own wedding (oh my!!!)

So here is James and Rebecca's wedding which took place at the end of last year is the gorgeous autumnal sunshine..... It was rather cold but the quality of light at this time of year is so magical.

The wedding took place in the purple room at Marylebone Town Hall which as ever is stunning from the outside but I was especially taken to the lighting fixtures in the purple room......The reception was at The Union Club on Greek Street.

Union Club is a venue I have never been to before but wow is it a special find for a wedding in London. It is so unique with its 1970's decor and portraits hanging on the walls amongst the organge glass vases- it was retro, classic and classy just like Rebecca and James.

Rebecca is American and James is British and the two families had never met so the 'union' (sorry) was not only about James and Rebecca but two familes coming together and getting to know each other. The whole day reflected the two countries and cultures with lovely details like the red London bus and Rebecca being brought up Jewish asked her mother and father to say a few prayers and break the humongous Hallah bread before the meal commenced.

The evening was rounded off with great music from Connect4 who had so much energy it was hard not to boogie along.....

I had such a lovely day and Rebecca and James are so realxed and in love it was really beautiful to document and observe.

1970's Bridal Shoot - Hampstead Heath

Now this shoot was featured in Rock N Roll Bride a few weeks ago here but me being the slow old usual me, have only just got around to putting the images on my poor, old neglected blog. (I am not sure if I like the fact I just called me and my blog 'old' sorry blog)
I bought this dress from ebay a while ago with the intention of having it as my wedding dress however, when I tried it on and all my friends laughed at me I thought I should maybe try and go for a different look. I still believe that they couldn't see past the high lace neckline and big 1970's sleeves but I always could. I had the dress altered in Lilly Bling and I have to say that now I think it looks amazing and will be selling it back on ebay to try and double my money!! (Still think it is a little OTT for my wedding though)

So enough about the dress....I organised this shoot with the help of Mary Herrington from For Ever and Ever Events who did a fantastic job of styling and bringing all the elements together.... the other fab suppliers include cupcakes: Sugar Plum Cupcakes, Graphics: Alexis at OMG I'm getting married blog, Make up: Elbie van Eeden, Models: Vanessa Waznis and my friend who is not a real model but did an amazing job Nick Mitten - he is actually in a band (Awkward Arm- check them out here ) and has been featured on my blog before here.

The Ring...

This is a rather self indulgent post I am not going to lie...... I got engaged in October 2009 - yes a rather long time ago now, and I wanted to post a few pictures of my engagement ring. We bought it (yes that was a 'we' - this is an important item of jewelry right??) in San Francisco just after the other half proposed in Moss Landing, California. We choose the ring in an estate store called Dianne's which is just out of this world. Not only does it have the most amazing pieces but the owners Charles and Dianne were so nice, welcoming and really without Charles I would not have ring I have now. If you are ever in San Fran you have to go here....

So anyway I LOVE my ring and I do get alot of comments about it. I always knew I didn't want just one big diamond but something flatter and something second hand - the ring dates from about 1939 . Anyway as I said rather self indulgent but I don't care because I have the ring of my dreams!!!

Emma and Matt....Wedding

During the summer I had the absolute pleasure of traveling up to North Yo rkshire to photograph the wedding of Emma and Matt. Now where do I start with these two!!!??? They are the coolest, nicest, sweetest, so in LOVE couple EVER!!! They found me on Rock and Roll bride, which everyone knows gives you the best couples, so I was so excited to go up north for this one. Yorkshire is so beautiful and the location was right in the dales. I really did feel like one of the family and was really sad to leave...I now really consider Emma and Matt to be friends and can't wait till they visit me in London!!! Thank you guys for choosing me, thank you for being sooo cool and thank you for sharing your amazing love with my camera!!

Now as I am writing this post this wedding has already been featured in Rock N Roll Bride!!! Yes very very exciting...... and for the article Emma wrote the best piece about the wedding so check it out here for all the details and suppliers....I can't explain how good this wedding was and what it soooo special was the warmth and love I felt from everyone *wipe tears*......

The Beautiful wedding of Victoria and Phil:

Warning: I am about to use the adjective 'beautiful' too many times throughout this entry.....

Well I have finally got myself into gear and am starting to blog my weddings from this season. Here is the wedding of Victoria and Phil Matthews. Where do I start with this beautiful day with a beautiful bride, beautiful venue and to top it all the most beautiful 3 month old baby. Yes that is right Victoria and Phil not only organised the most amazing wedding over the last year but they have also had a baby!!

There are so many amazing touches about this wedding that I am getting a little bamboozled while trying to write this.....The wedding was all based in Clapham Old Town. Phil's mum is actually the vicar at St Paul's Church in the old town and they all live together in the vicrage next door. They put up a marquee on the front lawn and hey presto!! a whole wedding day within yards of the church, venue and your house!

The food was by Trinity Restaurant in Clapham (yes again a few hundred yards away). You have to go to this restaurant!! This was literally the best wedding food I have ever had - hence why there are so many food pictures, the homemade sausage rolls with fig chutney inside were do die for.......Victoria had the cutest 4 flower girls and her beautiful niece as her bridesmaid. They all got ready at the Windmill pub on Clapham Common while Phil got ready at the family vicarge. I have never had a bride breast-feeding while getting her hair and makeup done in the morning but Victoria was so relaxed and radiant she really was stunning throughout and both Victoria, Phil and baby Alfie make the most beautiful little family.

The evening party was in the church hall where the party really kicked off with the help of London Wedding Disco who were great and the lighting they supplied really transformed the church hall. I love the pink lights!!

This really was a beautiful day with a beautiful family with sun, rain (I would say a torrential downpour at one point) and all the love, cuteness and beautifulness that new babies and newlyweds bring.

One of these days I will post a full wedding when I have finally caught up with myself but for now here is the wedding I am currently editing..... -Please meet Matthew and Emma who are simply as gorgeous in real life as they look in the picture. I have so much to say about these two and the whole day but as hard as it is, I am going to make myself wait until I blog about the whole wedding.......but (yes I can't help myself) just to say everytime I look at this picture I feel all warm and fuzzy just like they made me feel from the moment I met them ......

The Montage

I have been offering the Montage as an extra on my price list for a while now but thought I would share exactly what it is as people keep asking.

The montage is either, as well as the album, or sometimes, instead of the album. Where the album can get put on a shelf, this is a way to remember the day on your walls without it being IN YOUR FACE pictures of you. It creates an intimate portrait of the memories of your wedding which you can glance at upon passing, or get right up to and spend a while reminiscing. I love the relaxed and private nature of the montage- it goes with my photography. A private memento on the wall serving as a reminder every time I walk past of all the memories of the the first day of the rest of my life.........

The montage always comes as a long narrow piece as I LOVE it that way and I supply it with a black wooden frame.

Awkward Arm.....

This is a post away from weddings...yes my life is not just about surrounding myself with all things weddingy (although my fiancée would probably disagree).

The band consists of Pete Hutchings and Nick Mitten and we had a real fun shoot. They both came with loads of ideas which is always inspiring, these included face paints, tea stains and ripped clothing.......Oooo and I love the lightbulb idea...might need to borrow this one - yes you guessed it, for a wedding shoot.

My first REAL Magazine feature!!.........

Last week was so hugely exciting for me.....I was literally counting down the days for Thursday to arrive so I could see You and Your Wedding Magazine....

I had an email from Miranda Easton about 2 months ago, completely out of the blue, after she had seen my work on Rock and Roll Bride. She is such a big deal in this industry as not only the editor for Your and Your Wedding but also the editor for Cosmopolitan Bride!!! Only two of the biggest wedding magazines in the country!!! AND she wanted to feature MY work in one of the magazines!!! I could not believe it and thought she was bound to change her mind at any point in the next 2 months.........

Even after me pestering her, asking when I should send my images in, (my theory being that if I sent them in then she couldn't turn round and send them back-so to speak), what details she needed, what resolution etc etc - she still wanted to use my work!!! The July/August issue finally came out and yes I was featured with half a page full of my work!!!!

I didn't really want to tell many people before , which was really hard, but I kept telling myself ''it might only be a tiny image in the corner of a insignificant page somewhere in the magazine'' Now it is finally here I am so thrilled and really can't believe my work is published in a wedding magazine!!!!

So anyway here it is my first real magazine feature and hopefully the first of many!!!!

Beautiful Album......

Well I have just had THE most exciting delivery!!! My new sample album has finally arrived and it is gorgeous !!!

The print quality is so beautiful - it has a matt finish which really suits my style and the black and white images look sublime. What is fantastic about this album is the full page spreads. Their is no gutter so you can have a full photograph with no gaps, borders or margins so no distractions from the image - perfect! Each book is designed individually and I am going to be emailing over proofs to the couples before anything is printed.

It is a really touchy feely album which I can't wait to show off. I took it round to my client meeting this weekend and it seemed to go down very well so fingers crossed!!

Dave & Vicky Giles Wedding

So the second story which got featured was this one.....

It is such a special shoot to me as I was photographing our friends Dave and Vicky's wedding. We came back in October in the middle of our travels especially for the day as it was one we couldn't miss (not to mention I was the photographer!!)

Here are all the details from Vicky herself....

''Sooo dress was by essence but I asked for them to amend the back to be strapless as originally it had little crisscross diamanté straps on. The shoes were by pink and bleached to match the dress. My headdress was as u know from vintageheaddress.com I chose a vintage broach and he made it into the birdcage veil I was wearing.
Flowers- the bouquet the bridesmaids flowers and the buttonholes were all White roses from the enchanted florist in Leigh-on-sea.
I did all the table arrangements with White silk calla lillies and black and green foliage from a website called silkflowersdecoflora.com and the top table were glass cube flowers with the same silk calla lillies.
I did the favours just gloss White flat packed boxes tied with black ribbon filled with bon bons
Friern manor, the venue, set everything up for me so they were great just told them how I wanted it and they did it.
Place cards and invitations were designed by our best man and very good graphic designer Tom Norwell who used a quotation from a beach boys song called forever and that's what I walked down the aisle to.
The first dance was beautiful and was made so special because Dave (the groom, who is in a band - The Lucky Strikes who are ace!!! ) wrote and recorded the song as a surprise which didn't leave a dry eye in the house.
I found a white vintage birdcage to put our cards in and I just wrapped a lilly garland round it.
Cakes were gin and tonic and rum and coke cupcakes made by a friend.

I loved this wedding so much that I have used it for my new sample albums which I am uber excited about..... I sent them off yesterday so can't wait now to see them but I have to wait 10 whole days!!!!

My 1st Ever Blog!!!

So this is my first post on my new and fancy blog!!! Well what to start with?? Maybe a bit about myself and what I do.......

I am a wedding photographer (if you hadn't have guessed) and also a soon to be bride (June 2011). I live in South London with my fiancee and want to use this blog as a platform for my wo

rk and inspiration.

I have a first class hons degree in photography from Portsmouth University and love visiting photography galleries and learning all I can about photography.

For the past 8 months I have been traveling around the world with my fiancee - will be posting some images very soon....... Last summer was

truly inspirational and not only getting loads of ideas for my own wedding (an Indian theme perhaps??) I have also been inspired with my photography.

Although photographing weddings for a few years now this is the year I take it all seriously as my future career!!!

Since being back I have launched my super cool new website which I love and I have been lucky enough to be featured in some very amazing wedding blogs.

They both feature my most recent work so it is seems sensible for me to have these as my first picture posts here..........

This beautiful British bride had a gorgeous ‘Cherish the Dress’ session with her friend and photographer Caro Hutchings. “Jemma got married two years ago and wanted some images of her dress and detail shots to print out and put up in her new house.” Caro told me in her email. ”We had loads of fun with props and made a feature of the amazing hair pieces we found – especially the peacock feather piece which we fell in love with from ebay. Her dress was by Linea Raffaelli and we had Robina’s of Marlow doing her hair and supplying the rest of the hair accessories. The location of the shoot was an amazing house in Bourne End, Bucks known as ‘The Oak House’ which has just been finished. The shoot was actually the day before Valentines day which was very fitting for our romantic heart theme and got us all in the valentines mood.”
